Elmar Mammadyarov receives the head of the United States Transportation Command
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the head of the United States Transportation Command, Paul Selva.
The meeting was praised Azerbaijan's contribution in support of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, press-service of the Foreign Ministry.
Satisfaction with the functioning a transit routes in the transshipment through Azerbaijan, and cooperation of Baku with the NATO countries, including the United States in this sphere.
Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan will continue to provide necessary support for transit in connection with the operation in Afghanistan.
At the same time he pointed to the expansion of transit opportunities of Azerbaijan in connection with the construction of a new sea port in Alat and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.

On January 13, the trial in the case of public activist Nijat Ibrahim continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Aygun Gurbanova. The International Committee of Concerned Scholars (ICS) has appealed to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, requesting his assistance in securing the release of the arrested researcher, Igbal Abilov.
