Enemy Retreats under Pressure of Azerbaijani Army - Ministry of Defense
Baku / 21.10.20 / Turan: During the day on October 20 and on the night of October 21, hostilities continued with varying intensity in the Agdere, Fizuli-Jabrayil and Gubadli areas of the front. The enemy fired at the defensive positions of the Azerbaijan Army from small arms, mortars and artillery.
As a result of the operation carried out by the Azerbaijan Army in the Jabrayil and Gubadli directions of the front, the defending units of the 18th motorized rifle division of the Armenian armed forces were forced to retreat, having suffered losses in personnel and military equipment.
On the defensive line of the 5th Mountain Rifle Regiment, enemy positions were captured, as well as a large number of weapons and ammunition. The chief of artillery of the regiment, the commander of the artillery battalion and the commander of the 4th battalion were destroyed along with the personnel.
In the defensive sectors of the 6th and 7th Mountain Rifle Regiments, there are killed and wounded among the personnel of the enemy units. Among those killed is also the deputy commander of the regiment Vahan Sargsyan.
During the fighting, 3 artillery installations, several mortars and 3 trucks with personnel were disabled.
