FBI Arrests 21-Year-Old Air Guardsman Over Pentagon Document leak
Washington D.C./14.04.23/Turan: U.S. authorities on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old air guardsman in connection to the leak of classified documents online, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.
Attorney General Merrick Garland told reporters at the Justice Department that Jack Teixeira was an Airman First Class with the 102nd Intelligence Wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard. He will have an initial appearance before the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts.
The documents which have captured the attention of the world since leaking into the broader public sphere last week, detail the affairs of U.S. allied countries and the war in Ukraine, among other national security matters.
Among the latest revelations from the leaked documents that have been circulating on social media on Thursday are also details of infighting in the Russian government.
