For the Summit of Turkic-speaking countries in Istanbul
Baku/12.11.21/Turan: The summit of leaders of Turkic-speaking states opens in Istanbul on November 12. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as well as leaders of other Turkic-speaking countries and the Prime Minister of Hungary arrived in Istanbul to participate in its work.
Today's summit should implement a number of important initiatives of the "Turkic Council". One of them concerns the initiatives of the leader of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to rename the structure into the "Organization of Turkic States" and create the "Turan Corridor", which largely repeats the historical Silk Road, including the Trans-Caspian route.
Also, a factor contributing to further rapprochement of the Turkic-speaking countries proved to be their transition to the Latin alphabet. It is noteworthy that Hungary took part in the last summit this spring at the level of the head of government, and Russia showed interest in participating in theTurkic Council work.
"If the processes continue in the current direction, then in 2030-40 the issue of forming a single market and a space for economic cooperation may be raised. The strategy and vision of steps on this track will be formalized in Istanbul," says Professor Cengiz Tomar from the Ahmet Yasevi University. -02B-
