Foreign Ministers of Iran and Azerbaijan discussed Karabakh
Baku/09.12.20/Turan: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov held talks in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry representative Sayid Khatibzade said on Wednesday.
"The foreign ministers of Iran of Azerbaijan today discussed in Tehran Nagorno-Karabakh, regional issues and bilateral relations," Khatibzade wrote on his Twitter.
"Iran welcomes the liberation of the occupied territories and the results achieved within the framework of the positive neighborhood policy, and also supports a political settlement of the conflict," Khatibzadeh said.
Bayramov previously met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. "The will of the Islamic Republic of Iran is aimed at developing relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan more than before," Rouhani said during a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan. —0—

The European Parliament's Subcommittee on Human Rights convened an expanded session on Thursday to address "Crackdowns on Independent Media and Civil Society in Azerbaijan." The discussions featured testimonies from Jale Bayramova, a lawyer representing Dr. Gubad Ibadoghlu, finalist for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought; journalist Arzu Geybullayeva; and Alexandros Sabou, a representative of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.
