Ramiz Mehdiyev
Former head of Presidential Administration says Parliamentary elections were rigged
Baku/11.02.22/Turan: The scandal around the former head of the Presidential Administration, and now President of the National Academy of Sciences Ramiz Mehdiyev continues to gain momentum. In response to numerous accusations by a number of scientists and MPs who have called on the 82-year-old Mehtiyev to resign, the latter has issued retaliatory accusations.
In particular, he called the MPs who criticized him "duty trolls" and "pocket opposition. In particular, Mehdiyev called Fazail Agamaly and Etibar Aliyev's presence in the Parliament as "a disgrace". Calling these deputies corrupt and unprincipled persons, Mehdiyev recalls with what disgrace voters expelled Fazail Agamaly from meetings.
As for Etibar Aliyev, he is known for writing custom-made articles against certain persons for money.
Another "accidental" deputy Mehtiyev called Musa Gasymly who turned from an oppositionist into a pro-governmental figure for money.
By such allegations, Ramiz Mehdiyev actually acknowledges that these deputies were not elected but appointed. That is, the elections were rigged. However, he does not say who is guilty of this either.
Added to the above can be that when he was the head of the Presidential Administration it was Mehdiyev who was responsible for the Parliamentary elections and the composition of the future Parliament. Thus, Mehdiyev indirectly admits that the state policy on this issue is flawed and that those sitting in the Parliament were not elected as a result of fair elections. -02B-
