France convenes UN Security Council on the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border
Baku/13.09.22/Turan: France will convene a meeting of the UN Security Council due to the aggravation of the situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, was told on Tuesday at the Elysee Palace, reports TASS.
The time of the meeting is not reported.
"France will bring the issue of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border to the discussion of the UN Security Council, in which it currently chairs," said a representative of the French presidential administration following a telephone conversation between Emmanuel Macron and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Macron "continues to call for strict adherence to the ceasefire and respect for the territorial integrity of Armenia." The French leader is ready to help the parties resolve all issues through negotiations. --02D--

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan published a set of proposals on his Facebook page aimed at establishing long-term peace in the region. Among them, he suggested that Azerbaijan should abandon mutual claims against Armenia, including in international courts. Other proposals include: refraining from using belligerent rhetoric, continuing the demarcation of borders, signing a peace agreement that is 90% ready, mutually implementing arms control, creating a joint mechanism to investigate violations of the ceasefire regime, and dissolving the OSCE Minsk Group.
