France to supply self-propelled CAESAR howitzers to Armenia
On 18 June, a contract for purchase of CAESAR self-propelled artillery units by Yerevan was signed in Paris. This was announced by French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu on his Twitter account.
"We continue to strengthen our defence relations with Armenia. A warm and productive conversation with my Armenian counterpart Suren Papikyan took place in the framework of "Eurosatory". A new important milestone is the signing of a contract for purchase of CAESAR cannons," Lecornu wrote.
Note that no quantity of this type of artillery to be delivered to Yerevan is reported. It ought to be noted that this type of self-propelled howitzers proved themselves during the repulsion of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
According to Armenian media, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan at the meeting with Lecornu stated agreements on strengthening military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
Later it became known that the Armenian Defense Ministry and the French military-industrial company KNDS signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation.
