Head of Criminal Police Dismissed from Office in Georgia
Baku / 10.06.17 / Turan: First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, head of the criminal police Besik Amiranashvili was dismissed and transferred to the disposal of the personnel department.
This was reported on June 10 by the Minister of Internal Affairs Georgi Mgebrishvili, saying that he assumes the personal control of the criminal police.
The reasons for Amiranashvili"s dismissal are not reported.
Earlier, the journalist Afgan Mukhtarli, who was abducted in Georgia and delivered to Azerbaijan on May 29, said he had been abducted by members of the criminal police. -0-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
