Head of State on Compensation for Families of Martyrs
Baku / 11.01.19 / Turan: At a government meeting on Friday President Ilham Aliyev also touched upon the issue of one-time allowances to families of Martyrs.
In the spring of 2018, he signed a decree on the payment of 11,000 manat compensation to the heirs of the Martyrs.
Aliyev said that the process has already begun and about 10,000 heirs who have not received benefits in the past are on the list of recipients of compensation.
"The lists are being clarified, proposals are being made on these issues. Here it is important to preserve the principle of justice and legality. I am convinced that in this direction we will achieve what we want," said Aliyev.
About a hundred families of martyrs have held protests for many months, demanding payment of compensation to them. The Ministry of Labor claims that these families have already received money in the past, but no documentary evidence is provided.
In addition, compensation is not given only to the families of police officers and volunteers who died in the battles for Karabakh. -06D--
