Heads of Azerbaijani religious faiths go to Vatican
Baku/11.01.22/Turan: On January 12, chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikh ul Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh will go to the Vatican as head of the delegation of religious figures of Azerbaijan.
The delegation includes leaders of the country's religious faiths, particularly, leader of the Mountain Jews Melikh Yevdayev; secretary of the Orthodox Church of Baku and Azerbaijan Archimandrite Alexey Nikonorov and prefect of the Roman Catholic Church in Azerbaijan Bishop Vladimir Fekete.
During the visit, the delegation will be received by Pope Francis and other officials.
Note that the delegates intend to inform the Pope about the situation around religious shrines in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan - mosques and churches. They will also inform the Pope about measures to restore destroyed religious sites.
The visit will continue until January 17 following which a press conference will be held.-05D-
