Hungary Provides Loan of $ 100 Million for Reconstruction Work in Karabakh
Baku/10.03.21/Turan: Hungary's position has always been that the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan should be restored within its internationally recognized borders. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto stated this in Baku today.
“For several decades this right of Azerbaijan was violated and we were among the countries that did not hide their position on this issue. We will continue to clearly express our position,” he said during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
In turn, Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan and Hungary are strategic partners and continue successful cooperation. He thanked Hungary for Azerbaijan's support in relations with the European Commission.
“We are at the final stage of negotiating an agreement with the European Union. These discussions were temporarily interrupted due to the pandemic and the war. However, the vast majority of the provisions of the document have already been agreed upon. I am convinced that more progress will be made in the coming months,” Aliyev said.
He noted that Azerbaijan is in favor of stepping up trade and economic cooperation with Hungary and the participation of Budapest in the restoration of the liberated territories. “I have publicly invited companies from friendly countries to cooperate more than once. Hungary is one of Azerbaijan's close friends. I am confident that Hungarian companies will have the opportunity to work with us in the liberated territories,” the President said.
In turn, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint briefing with Siyarto that the Hungarian bank had allocated a loan of $ 100 million to companies of this country for the implementation of projects in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
Baku also highly appreciated the offer of the Hungarian government for donations for mine clearance.
Bayramov announced about 10 new bilateral agreements that are being prepared for signing, in addition to the already existing 44 agreements. –06D-
