Ibadoglu brought to trial as a suspect in "counterfeiting"/UPDATED/

Baku/07.23.23/Turan: On the night of July 24, the opposition politician Gubad Ibadoglu was brought to the investigation as a suspect in committing actions under Art. 204.1 (manufacturing for the purpose of sale, as well as the acquisition or sale of counterfeit money or foreign currency) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. This was reported by his daughter Zhalya Bayramova.

According to her, Ibadoglu is kept in the basement of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GUBOP) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“He is not given medicines and change of clothes. At the time of his arrest, he did not have the medicines he needed. My father is a diabetic, he has hypertension and he must take medication periodically. Lately, he has been taking medicine for diseases of the internal organs. Without these medicines, the father can simply be destroyed,” Bayramova said.

Under the incriminated article of the Criminal Code, Ibadoglu faces a sentence of imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.—06B-

Gubad Ibadoglu suspected of links with FETÖ - Ministry of Internal Affairs /UPDATED/

Baku / 07.23.23 / Turan: Gubad Ibadoglu is suspected of having links with FETÖ, a terrorist organization declared in Turkey, which is allegedly headed by preacher Fethullah Gülen living in the United States.

As Turan was told in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the basis of information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey, an operation was carried out against persons associated with FETÖ. One of the five detainees testified about his links with Ibadoglu.
 
“Based on these testimonies, Ibadoglu's office was searched, documents of relevance to the case were found, and Ibadoglu was detained. Currently, the activities are ongoing,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.

According to Ibadoglu's daughter, Zhali Bayramova, the police claim that $40,000 was found in the office.
She believes that the police planted the money themselves.

“Father is sick, he asks for medicine. He has been detained since noon and has not been able to take his medicine since. We are very worried about him,” Bayramova said.

Opposition politician Gubad Ibadoglu detained

Baku / 07.23.23 / Turan: The head of the Azerbaijan Democracy and Welfare Party  Gubad Ibadoglu was detained. This was reported by the daughter of Ibadoglu Zhalya Bayramova. According to her, Ibadoglu was detained at about 1-2 pm on the Novkhany-Sumgayit road when he was going to meet with the youth of Sumgayit.

Ibadoglu's office is being searched.

In turn, an employee of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anar Gafarov, told Turan that Ibadoglu, together with his lawyer Zibeyda Sadigova, was invited to the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in connection with the requests received. An investigation is underway and more information will be provided.

Ibadoglu, in addition to his political activities, is also known as an economist.

In recent years, he has spoken out with sharp criticism of the authorities, and in particular for the violation of human rights and corruption.

Ibadoglu recently established in the UK together with the head of the National Council of Democratic Forces, Professor Jamil Hasanli and former diplomat Arif Mammadov, who is in political emigration in Europe
