Ilham Aliyev Condemns Crimes against Muslims in Myanmar
Baku / 10.09.17 / Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev condemned crimes against Rohinja Muslims in Arakan, Myanmar.
Speaking at the first summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on science and technology in Astana, Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is making a great contribution to the Islamic solidarity. "We are actively fighting Islamophobia, which raises its head in various regions of the world. We strongly condemn the crimes committed against Muslims, in particular, the facts of genocide and mass violence carried out recently against the Muslim Rohinja in Myanmar. We call on international organizations, the world community, political and religious leaders to take the necessary steps to curb the events taking place in Myanmar," Aliyev said.
He noted that on 8 September Azerbaijan sent humanitarian aid to Rohinja refugees - 100 tons of food. -06D-
