Ilham Aliyev: End Being Put in Karabakh Settlement
Baku / 10.11.20 / Turan: President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint statement by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia during a video conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Aliyev said this document marks an end to the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, and the end of the occupation of Azerbaijani territories is coming.
Calling the signing of the statement a historic moment, Aliyev expressed confidence that this would serve to achieve long-term peace and put an end to bloodshed and confrontation.
“This is a triumph of norms and principles of international law,” Aliyev said.
He thanked Putin for his active participation in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
Aliyev also noted the active participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the political settlement.
According to Aliyev, one of the points of the agreement is the joint peacekeeping initiative of the Russian Federation and Turkey.
“I sign the document with a feeling of joy and pride,” Aliyev said.
In a night telecast to the people, Aliyev read out the following text of the statement.
He noted that initially it was planned to sign an agreement in the format of a video conference with the participation of the leaders of the three countries. However, at the last moment, Pashinyan refused.
“And this is understandable, since this document means military surrender for him,” Aliyev said.
“This statement is our glorious victory,” Aliyev said.
According to him, the signing of the document was facilitated by the recent successes of the Azerbaijani army - the liberation of the city of Shusha on November 8 and more than 70 villages on November 9.
The Azerbaijani army liberated about 300 settlements in a short time and broke the back of the invaders.
This document will allow bloodless return of the Aghdam, Kelbajar and Lachin regions.
Aliyev drew attention to paragraph 5 of the statement, which reads that "In order to increase the effectiveness of control over the implementation of the agreements by the Parties to the conflict, a peacekeeping center is being deployed to control the ceasefire."
Representatives of the Turkish Armed Forces will also enter this center along with the Russian military, Aliyev said.
He also pointed to the point providing for the provision of land communication between Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Aliyev drew attention to the fact that there is no mention of any status of Nagorno-Karabakh in the text.
At the same time, he recalled that Azerbaijan offered autonomy to Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenian side rejected it and demanded "independence".
“Where is this“ status ”now? Where is this "independence"? All this has gone to hell,” Aliyev said. —06D-
