Ilham Aliyev Forms New Government
Baku / 21.04.18 / Turan: Following the approval of Novruz Mammadov as the Prime Minister, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 21.
First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov has retained his post in the new government.
The Vice Premiers Ali Ahmadov and Ali Hasanov, have remained in office. However, the latter has lost the post of head of the State Committee for IDPs, and this post has gone to the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy, Rovshan Rzayev.
Hajibala Abutalibov, who in the past 17 years headed the Baku Executive Power, has been appointed new Vice Premier.
The new government does not include three former Vice Premiers - Elchin Efendiyev (curated education, science and culture), Abid Sharifov (curated construction) and Ismet Abbasov.
The armed force-related Ministers have kept their positions - Ramil Usubov (Ministry of Internal Affairs), Fikret Mammadov (Ministry of Justice), Zakir Hasanov (Ministry of Defense), Kamaladdin Heydarov (Ministry of Emergencies), Madat Guliyev (State Security Service), Orkhan Sultanov (Foreign Intelligence Service), and Elchin Guliyev (State Border Service).
Elmar Mammadyarov has been appointed Foreign Minister again.
Parviz Shahbazov has retained the post of Energy Minister, Shaheen Mustafayev - Minister of Economy, Ramin Guluzadeh - Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Samir Sharifov - Finance Minister, and Mikail Jabbarov - Minister of Taxes.
The Former Deputy Minister of Economy Sahil Babayev has become Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, replacing Salim Muslimov.
Inam Kerimov, who previously headed the State Agency for Services to Population and Social Innovations, which includes ASAN services, has become the Minister of Agriculture.
Samir Nuriyev, who previously headed the State Agency for Housing Construction has been appointed the Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture.
The posts of Ministers of Education, Culture, Health, Ecology and Natural Resources, Defense Industry, and Youth and Sports, and the Chiefs of State Committees on Work with Religious Structures, Work with the Diaspora, the newly established State Agency for Tourism and a number of other departments have remained vacant. -----06D--
