Taleh Khasmammadov Released from Custody
Baku / 21.04.18 / Turan: The activist Taleh Khasmammadov detained on April 19 was released from custody on Saturday. However, he remains under investigation and transferred to police supervision.
Khasmammadov was released from custody in the building of the Goychay district court on the evening of April 21. This was reported by his mother Gulbut Khasmammadova, the coordinator of the Political Prisoners Protection Center Ogtay Gulaliyev told the Kavkazskiy Uzel (Caucasian Knot) correspondent.
According to her, a criminal case was initiated against the activist under Article 221.2.2 (hooliganism committed with resisting an official who protects public order) of the Criminal Code. He faces punishment in the form of corrective labor for up to 3 years, or restriction of freedom for up to 3 years, or imprisonment from 1 to 4 years.
The Goychay District Court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of transfer under the police supervision. The activist rejects the accusation and considers it to be fabricated.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that Khasmammadov had violated traffic rules, and when he was taken to a "parking lot", he came to the traffic police and made a scandal there, "inflicting bodily injuries on three policemen."
Khasmammadov is a member of the Political Prisoners Protection Center. He was previously brought to criminal responsibility in connection with his human rights activities. -06D-
