Prezident İlham Əliyev.
Ilham Aliyev on Place, Significance of Hadrut Operation
Baku/16.03.21/Turan: The city of Hadrut was taken on October 17 and this came as a surprise to the Armenians, as they expected the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to attack in a different direction. Head of State Ilham Aliyev, who visited Hadrut the day before, said this.
“Proceeding from the regularity of hostilities, after Jabrayil, they moved to Hadrut and only then to Fizuli,” Aliyev said.
For a long time, the Armenian authorities concealed the loss of Hadrut, and it was after this that the offensive of the Azerbaijani troops on Shusha began. “For the liberation of Shusha, it was extremely important to take Hadrut, and again our troops went along the route that the enemy did not expect. Therefore, this operation will take a special place in the history of wars,” Aliyev said. -02D-
