Ilham Aliyev received special representative of Russian Foreign Ministry on Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict
Baku/05.09.23/Turan: On September 5, head of state Ilham Aliyev received Igor Khovayev, special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement.
According to the official message, the situation in the region and the possibility of opening the Aghdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads were discussed at the meeting.
Aliyev recalled that Baku's proposals to hold meetings with representatives of the Armenian population of Karabakh in various cities of Azerbaijan on issues of reintegration were rejected by the Armenian side.
In turn, Igor Khovayev noted that Russia will make every effort to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and stability in the region.
It ought to be added that the last week Igor Khovayev visited Yerevan, where he held talks with the Armenian leadership on the same issues. -02D-
