Ilham Aliyev: Yerevan�s latest statements on Karabakh are unacceptable
Baku / 06.03.19 / Turan: On Wednesday, President Ilham Aliyev received EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar.
According to the official statement, Toivo Klaar expressed the interest of the European Union in the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
In turn, Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the statements of a number of European Commissioners about the need to resolve the conflict within the framework of international norms, the inadmissibility of maintaining the status quo and changing the format of negotiations.
Aliyev reiterated that the resolution of the conflict is based on the well-known resolutions of the UN Security Council, international principles, taking into account the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. According to him, the format of the negotiations cannot be changed.
The liberation of the occupied territories has always been an important part of the peace negotiations. Therefore, the contradictory statements of the Armenian side on this issue are unacceptable and inhibit the settlement process.
He called on the international community to give a serious assessment of such actions by the Armenian side. -02D-
