Baku/06.12.23/Turan: In Armenia, the court of Appeal has toughened the punishment of Azerbaijani soldier Huseyn Akhundov, replacing imprisonment for 20 years with life imprisonment, the Armenian media reported.
In April of this year, soldiers Huseyn Akhundov and Agshin Babirov, who served in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, got lost and found themselves on the territory of Armenia. They were detained there and charged with criminal offences. Akhundov was sentenced to 20 years in the case of "illegal border crossing" and "murder of a watchman" of an enterprise in Gafan. Babirov received 11.5 years in the case of illegal border crossing.--06B--
