In the case of Afgan Mukhtarli 200 people were questioned
Baku / 13.06.17 / Turan: More than 200 people were questioned in Tbilisi in connection with the criminal case of the kidnapping of Azerbaijani journalist Afgan Mukhtarly in Georgia and the transfer to Azerbaijan. Turan was informed about this by the wife of journalist Leyla Mustafayeva. According to her, the Georgian lawyers by Afgan Mukhtarli were received by the investigators who are investigating this case.
"However, the interrogated do not know anything about what happened. The police presented more than 30 video footage on which there is nothing in connection with the kidnapping of Mukhtarly," said Laila Mustafayeva. She expressed her dissatisfaction with the investigation of the Georgian police. In her opinion, the investigation was aimed not at revealing the fact of kidnapping Mukhtarly, but on his concealment. "I have no hope that the Azerbaijani side will investigate this case. They can only imitate the investigation," she said. According to her, the Georgian government does not pay attention to statements of international structures, including the US State Department, the EU.
The journalist Afgan Mukhtarly was detained on May 29 on charges of resisting the authorities (Article 315.2). He was also charged with two more Articles of the Criminal Code: illegal crossing of the state border (318.1) and smuggling (206.1). Official structures of Baku state that Mukhtarli was detained on the territory of Azerbaijan at the border crossing, during which, according to the official version, the journalist resisted law enforcement officers. It is alleged that the journalist was found 10 thousand euros. The court authorized his pre-trial arrest for a period of 3 months.
However, Afghan Mukhtarly said all said at the trial was a lie. He said that he was detained in Tbilisi, tortured, 10,000 euros were forcibly put into his pocket. For more than two years Mukhtarly lives in Georgia, because he was persecuted in Azerbaijan. In recent years, he actively participated in rallies against the Azerbaijani authorities, which took place in Tbilisi. -0-

The United States and the European Union, which tried to position themselves as mediators in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, have come up with nothing and merely copied Russia's ideas, distorting their essence in order to "hijack" the peace process for themselves. However, their true goal was to take control of the region, to insert themselves into it, and to push out Russia, as well as Iran and Türkiye, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing on November 13.
