Tbilisi/30.05.14/Turan -BS PRESS: Massive clashes between locals - Georgians and Azerbaijanis took place in the city Gardabani that in eastern Georgia on May 28. Several NGOs dealing in the national problems, reported that the incident initially started by a dispute between locals ethnic Azerbaijanis and Georgians near the local store. Then the incident escalated into a massive collision , when a large group of Georgians moved to the teahouse , where were the Azerbaijanis and approximately 400 people became involved in the incident. The local police failed to defuse the situation , and then were called Special Forces .
On the second day , several hundred people with sticks gathered in the center of Gardabani and demanded from the police and local authorities to punish those who attacked the Azerbaijanis in the teahouse .
Governor of Kvemo Kartli region, Mgebrishvili George, met with the protesters and told them that the investigation is underway , and the participants of the incident will be brought to justice. -02D-
