Baku/10.09.13/Turan : A group of independent lawyers issued a statement in support of the single candidate for the presidency of the National Council Jamil Hasanli .
The authors of the statement believe that among the numerous candidates for president, Jamil Hasanli takes a special place. He is well-known in the world of political activists and as a scientist, and is respected by the nation. All this was confirmed during his presence in the parliament.
Jamil Hasanli has always been an ardent fighter against corruption , injustice , violations of human rights. He has always demonstrated a true civil position against the authoritarian regime.

On September 5, Afghan Sadigov, the founder of the “Azel TV” website who is being held in Tbilisi's detention center, was visited by a representative of the Georgian Migration Service, Sadigov's wife, Sevinc Sadigova, who met with him on the same day. Today, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) announced its decision in the case of "Ahmedov and others v. Azerbaijan." The complaint concerned illegalities during administrative arrests of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (PFPA) activists Niyamaddin Ahmedov, Faig Amirov, Elnur Yusubov, and Elnur Hasanov, as well as restrictions on their freedom of assembly. The government admitted to violating Article 5 (right to liberty and security) of the European Convention on Human Rights.
