Hafiz Babaly detained in connection with the case against Abzas Media employees (UPDATED)
Baku/13.12.23/Turan: Journalist Hafiz Babaly was detained as part of a criminal case against employees of the publication Abzas Media, Ibrahim Amiraslanli, a representative of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told Turan.
Let us recall that employees of the main police department of the city of Baku detained Babali, editor of the economic department of the Turan agency, on December 13.
After his arrest, his apartment in Sumgayit was searched and his computer, mobile phone, and documents were seized.
Babali is known for his journalistic investigations into corruption.
During the period after November 20, Abzas Media director Ulvi Hasanli, his deputy Mohammed Kekalov, editor-in-chief Sevinj Vagifgyzy and reporter Nargiz Absalamova were detained. They are charged with “foreign currency smuggling.” –06V-

Baku/12.13.23/Turan: The editor of the economic department of the Turan agency, Hafiz Babaly, has been detained.
According to his relatives, employees of the Baku Main Police Department searched the journalist's apartment in Sumgayit in the afternoon of December 13, and then took him with them.
Babaly was previously called to the investigation as a witness in the case of the online publication “Abzas Media.” The Interior Ministry could not be reached for comment.—06B-
