Iran calls for resolving the Karabakh issue within the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan
Baku/19.09.23/Turan: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has voiced serious concern regarding the escalating tensions in Nagorno-Karabakh, urging all involved parties to adhere to the terms of the ceasefire agreement and to seek peaceful solutions through dialogue.
Kanaani underscored Iran's stance, affirming, "The Islamic Republic of Iran regards Nagorno-Karabakh as an integral part of the Republic of Azerbaijan and firmly believes that its multifaceted issues, including the rights and security of its residents, must be addressed within the framework of Azerbaijan and through constructive dialogue."
Furthermore, Kahaani reiterated the crucial role that regional countries play in advancing peaceful conflict resolution. He also reminded of Iran's readiness to convene a meeting in the 3+3 format, bringing together Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Russia, and Turkey, to facilitate discussions on the matter.--0--

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
