Iran does not allow ethnic Azerbaijanis to study in their language, unlike Armenians - I. Aliyev
Baku/25.11.22/Turan: There are Armenian schools in Iran, but there are no Azerbaijani ones, and this is not normal, stated President Ilham Aliyev on Friday to the participants of the international conference: "Along the Middle Corridor: geopolitics, security and economics."
He noted that there are 340 schools teaching in Russian in Azerbaijan, 10 schools teaching in Georgian, and 116 Azerbaijani-language schools in Georgia.
“In Iran, there are schools teaching in Armenian, but there are no schools teaching in Azerbaijani. How can this be?” Aliyev said and dismissed allegations that this was interference in Iran's internal affairs.
“We are raising this issue because otherwise the Azerbaijani language remains at the level of everyday life,” he stressed.
It should be noted that at least 25 million ethnic Azerbaijanis live in Iran, and the number of Armenians in this country does not exceed 80 thousand people. -02D-
