Iran hopes for the resumption of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran soon
Baku/02.10.23//Turan: Iran and Azerbaijan plan to discuss the resumption of the work of the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Tehran in the near future, stated the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Nasser Kanani Chafi, TASS reported.
"The plans for the visit of Azerbaijani officials to Iran are at the stage of approval, and I cannot tell you the exact date yet. However, I assure you that serious issues are on our agenda, such as the reopening of the Azerbaijani embassy and the development of events in the South Caucasus," Fars news agency quoted him as saying. "The return of Azerbaijani diplomats to Tehran would be a good sign, and we hope that we will be able to see how this will happen soon.".
Azerbaijan suspended the activities of its embassy in Tehran and evacuated its staff after the diplomatic mission was subjected to an armed attack on January 27 this year.
Today, the state TV channel AzTV announced that the criminal who committed an armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Iran. ---06B---
