Iran to build a new road for its trucks in Armenia
Baku/05.10.21/Turan: During the official visit to Tehran of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, an agreement was reached on the construction of a new road for Iranian trucks. This was announced by Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahiyan after his meeting with Mirzoyan.
"We have reached good agreements at the strategic level, and today in Tehran we are drawing up a new roadmap of relations between the two countries. We intend to revive the transit road for cargo routes between the two countries, so the project will be implemented as soon as possible," he said.
On the same day, the head of the company "Construction and Development of Transport Infrastructure" of Iran, Heyrollah Hademi, arrived in Yerevan. He will get acquainted with the state of the road through the village of Tatev to become an alternative route for Iranian transit trucks. According to the Armenian side, the point is about the construction of a 20 km section. The work is planned to be completed in a month.
It should be recalled that a month ago Azerbaijan began to collect duties from Iranian trucks traveling along a 20 km section of the road from Iran to Armenia. This section runs through the territory of Azerbaijan. This measure was installed due to the fact that Tehran ignored Baku's repeated warnings about the inadmissibility of Iranian trucks traveling to Karabakh which is a violation of Azerbaijan's sovereignty. This was the reason for the aggravation of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran in recent days. -02D-
