Iranians thing about transferring the capital
Iran is actively discussing the possibility of changing the capital to another place, according to IRNA. Earlier, in December 2013 Parliament by 110 votes "for" and 97 "against" adopted the act of changing the capital. However, since then there is no progress on this issue.
Iran's Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli told reporters that President Rouhani agrees with the idea of the transference, which has been discussed for 20 years.
"Although legislators have approved the proposal to transfer the capital to another place, the financial capacity of the project are not yet clear," said Rahmani Fazli.
The Iranian Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Majid Ansari called the idea "unsustainable", pointing to the considerable financial costs and doubted the possibility of moving all the state institutions and commercial centers of Tehran.
