Is Armenian Opposition Turning Away from Russia?
Baku/27.01.21/Turan: “The biggest link connecting us with Russia was the issue of Artsakh. There is no Artsakh, there is no Russia, and the Caucasus is completely taken over by Turkey.” This is a quote from the speech of the leader of the Armenian opposition Vazgen Manukyan to the residents of the Ararat region on January 26.
“Secret negotiations are underway with Azerbaijan and Turkey. Nikol is lying, saying that it was he who stopped the war; Russia obliged him to do this, because if we completely lost Artsakh, then the Russian Federation would have nothing to do here. Moscow would not have been able to deploy peacekeeping troops here and would have lost the South Caucasus,” he said.
He also touched upon the topic of unblocking roads. “They say: we will open the roads and use them. They lie, only Turkey and Azerbaijan will use these roads. Azerbaijanis attacked Armenian trucks in Georgia yesterday. If we cannot get rid of Azerbaijanis on the territory of Georgia, then how are we going to transport goods or people across the territory of Azerbaijan? There is only one goal - to open the road to Nakhidzhevan (Nakhchivan – Ed.),” said Manukyan.
It is noteworthy that initially this part of Manukyan's speech was either not published by the Armenian media, or was given only in Armenian.
Already on January 27, the Armenian version of Manukyan's words disappeared from Armenian websites. -02D-
