Isa Gambar Urges to Perpetuate Memory of APR Founders
Baku / 31.01.20 / Turan: Today, on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of the founder of the Azerbaijan People’s Republic (APR) (1918-20) and the Musavat party, Mammad Emin Rasulzadeh, a commemoration action took place at his monument in the village of Novkhany.
The event, which was attended by hundreds of people, was organized by the Musavat party.
Participants of the action noted the need of perpetuation of the memory of Rasulzadeh and other founders of the APR at the proper level.
The Musavat party has repeatedly called on the authorities to do this over the years, said the former head of the party, Isa Gambar.
“At the same time, we turned to the intelligentsia to take initiatives to popularize the heritage of Rasulzadeh. It is gratifying that finally the representatives of the intelligentsia actualized the creation of the Mammad Emin Rasulzadeh house museum.
We support this initiative, although this has been done without consulting with those who have raised this issue for many years.
Creating a house museum is a minimum. It is necessary to erect a monument to Rasulzadeh and return his name to BSU, as well as to perpetuate the names of all other activists of the APR,” Gambar said.
Touching on the February 9 parliamentary elections, Gambar called for active participation in the elections and voting for Musavat candidates. -0-

The crash of our plane in Aktau raises several questions that demand answers: 1. Many of the victims of this tragedy were people who previously traveled to the North Caucasus by train or car. These victims might not have existed if Azerbaijan hadn’t kept its land borders closed for several years.
