Israel's 75th anniversary is symbolically celebrated at the Heydar Aliyev Center
Baku/30.05.23/Turan: An official reception on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Israel's Independence Day was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on May 30. The event was colored by the presence of Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog and First Lady Michal Herzog, as well as Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Anar Alekperov, various government officials, religious leaders, diplomats and prominent public figures.
The event began with the performance of the national anthems of both countries. George Deek, the Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, expressed his gratitude for the strong and prosperous bilateral relations between Israel and Azerbaijan, which were supported by the efforts of their respective leaders. He stressed the deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Subsequently, President Yitzhak Herzog addressed the audience, especially noting the celebration by Israel of the 75th anniversary of its independence and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Israel. The Duke stressed that the close relationship between the two countries is based not only on common interests, but, more importantly, on common values. He acknowledged the strong historical ties between the Jewish people and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the security and preservation of Jewish culture inside the country. The Duke highly appreciated the interfaith cooperation, interethnic tolerance and mutual respect that both nations cherish. He also expressed hope that the opening of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tel Aviv will open up new opportunities for bilateral relations.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova conveyed sincere congratulations and best wishes from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Israel's Independence Day. Gafarova stressed the symbolism of the celebration of the national holiday of Israel in the Heydar Aliyev Center. She noted the important role of Heydar Aliyev in the establishment of Azerbaijani-Israeli relations, the successor of which is President Ilham Aliyev. Gafarova highly appreciated Israel's achievements over 75 years of independence, which, in her opinion, were not accidental, but evidence of genuine and friendly relations built on mutual respect and trust between Azerbaijan and Israel.
As a gesture of goodwill , President Herzog was presented with an Azerbaijani carpet.--0-
