Issues of North-South transport corridor implementation discussed in Astara
Baku/08.12.21/Turan: Deputy Transport & Communications Minister Rahman Gummatov held talks with Iranian Deputy Road & Urban Development Minister, Heyrullah Khademi in the Iranian town of Astara.
Under a press release of the Ministry of Transport & Communications, the sides discussed issues of the construction of Astara-Astara bridge between Iran and Azerbaijan. Also, the sides examined the construction site of terminal complex on the Iranian side.
It should be noted that the implementation of these projects has been discussed for many years. The Astara-Astara bridge is to become an important element in the implementation of the North-South transport corridor to connect Russia and European countries with Iran and the Persian Gulf countries.-0-

Adalyat Verdiyev, the head of the civil defense staff at the public legal entity Center for Public Health and Reform under the Ministry of Health, and a military expert, has been arrested. On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
