Jamil Hasanli: Aliyev does not get tired to pervert the Constitution (UPDATED)

Today the police in many parts of the country  detained and returned  hundreds of activists on their way to a rally in Baku. It took place in Sumgayit, Agsu, Saatli, Sabirabad and other places,  said in his speech, the deputy chairman of PFPA Geza Bayramli. She condemned the social policy of the authorities, noting that 17,000 students have been forced to leave school, because they cannot pay 4,000 manats per year. Dozens of students  have committed suicides.

"Why doyoung people should kill themselves, what fault of these children? Suicide should make Ilham Aliyev's family, who plundered billion from oil and exported from abroad. We say no to the corrupt, authoritarian regime!  This regime  and Ilham Aliyev and  not interested  in the fate of young people, they are  concerned  in  the fate of the "Formula -1", - she said. -02В-

The leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli said that today the police have arrested 51 people - members of his party who were at today's  rally. "And  the  power calls  it an authorized rally, freedom of expression and assembly,"  he said. Expressing the general  mood of  protesters, Karimli said that "the people oppose the amendments to the Constitution in favor of the ruling family of Ilham Aliyev," he said. Kerimli  speech was interrupted  by calls "Resign!" and "Get out!"

Protesters also raised slogans: "Where are  the stolen $140 billion.?" "We have not elected you," "Wage  are 105 manat and tuition fees - 4000?", "Sign the Association Agreement with the European Union",  and  other.-02В-

Several thousand people gathered at the authorized meeting of protest against the amendments to the Constitution, submitted to referendum on 26 September.  The slogans of the participants are as follows: "No to monarchy!", "No robbery!" Despite the rain, the number of participants continues to grow. Police densely surrounded the  stadium. The action is carried out  by  the forces- members of the National Council of Democratic Forces. -06-
