Jamil Hasanli: Council of Europe serves anti-democracy
Baku/07.10.13/Turan : A single presidential candidate from the opposition, Jamil Hasanli, criticized international organizations for their cooperation with the ruling regime in Azerbaijan and their oblivion of the priorities of democracy.
Responding to questions from journalists on Monday after the presentation of the report of the National Council of the pre-election situation in Azerbaijan, Hasanli said that over 10 years, the Council of Europe was not able to bring to Azerbaijan European values. "On the contrary, Azerbaijan was able to "implement its values in PACE," he said. It became possible also thank to the Turkish MP, Mevlut Cavusoglu, who headed the PACE for several years, and lobbied on behalf of the ruling regime in Azerbaijan.
Hasanli noted that during the elections he will rely on the people of Azerbaijan, and not international organizations, and will win the victory together with the people.
Asking the question about his rating, Hasanli said that public opinion polls show that 63% of voters support him.
At the same time, he condemned a number of research centers of the democratic countries for supporting not democrats, but anti-democratic forces. If Ilham Aliyev falsifies the results of elections and declare himself a president , the opposition will use all legal means to prevent it. -05C-
