Jewish community representatives and Azerbaijanis show solidarity with Israel
Baku/16.10.23/Turan: As a sign of unity and solidarity, hundreds of representatives of the Jewish community and Azerbaijanis came to the Synagogue of Mountain Jews in Baku on 15 October to express their condolences and support for deaths of 1,300 civilians as a result of Hamas terrorist attacks. This was reported to Turan by the Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The message notes that the speakers strongly condemned these horrific crimes against humanity.
"In these difficult moments, we are determined to reaffirm our joint commitment to solidarity and humanity," said Milikh Yevdayev, head of the community of mountain Jews.
Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Dick noted that Hamas has chosen the path of destroying the Jewish state. Therefore, fighting it may be a very long and difficult path.
"But one thing is clear - it is undeniable and not minuscule. We will win," the statement further said.
During the ceremony, prayers were recited in tribute to the tragic deaths of 1,300 Israelis and candles were lit.
"This majestic moment is a demonstration that the Jewish community and the Azerbaijani people stand together with Israel in the darkest days, proof of their solidarity," the Israeli Embassy press release noted. -16В06-
