Lavrov and Zarif discussed Karabakh and regional issues
Moscow/26.01.21/Turan: Moscow and Tehran note a mutual interest in deepening dialogue on a number of regional issues, including the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, opening talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, said on Tuesday.
"Taking into account the role of our countries in the surrounding region, we are interested in deepening the dialogue on issues such as security in the Persian Gulf, the problems of Afghan settlement. Of course, we can discuss the situation that has developed around Nagorno-Karabakh after the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan, and Armenia reached agreements," the TASS agency quoted Lavrov.
The talks resulted in signing an intergovernmental agreement on providing information security. -02D-
