Baku/19.05.23/Turan: The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Azerbaijan Sergey Lavrov and Ceyhun Bayramov discussed on Friday morning in Moscow the preparations for the trilateral meeting with the participation of Mirzoyan to be held in the afternoon.
Bilateral relations were also touched upon. According to Lavrov, Moscow is "focused on the implementation of all the agreements reached earlier by the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan". At the same time, he singled out the North-South transport corridor.
During Lavrov's meeting with Mirzoyan, the Russian Minister said that the trilateral meeting would discuss the normalisation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the implementation of the trilateral agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia "on all issues relating to the peace treaty, the unblocking of communications and the delimitation and subsequent demarcation of the borders".
Achieving progress in all of these areas is "a key condition for stability in the Caucasus," Lavrov said.
In his words, Russia plays "a historic role and has the most serious interests" in all of this.
For his part, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan accused Azerbaijan of violating the trilateral agreements, setting up a checkpoint in Lachin and infiltrating the Armenian territory. At the same time, he said Armenia was ready to negotiate a settlement.-02B-
