Lavrov urged Mirzoyan to fulfill the agreements reached
Baku/10.02.23/Turan: On February 10, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan called Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The ministers discussed topical issues of bilateral relations. The problems of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations were discussed.
“The Russian side emphasized the importance of the speedy resumption of work on the implementation of the trilateral agreements at the highest level of November 9, 2020, January 11, November 26, 2021 and October 31, 2022, including the unblocking of all transport and economic ties in the region, delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, agreeing on the parameters of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku, as well as promoting a dialogue between public figures, experts and parliamentarians,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It should be reminded that the Russian Foreign Ministry's special envoy for Karabakh, Igor Khovaev, arrived in Yerevan the day before and held talks with Mirzoyan. It was after this that Mirzoyan called Lavrov. It can be assumed that Khovaev brought some proposals from Moscow, to which Yerevan must respond.
Judging by Lavrov's conversation with Mirzoyan, these proposals concern the need to fulfill all previous agreements. Earlier, Baku handed over to Yerevan another proposal to conclude a peace agreement. However, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that there are points in these proposals that are unacceptable for Armenia. ---02D---
