Leyla Yunus: "The judge Afgan Hajiyev subjects us to torture"
The arrested human rights activist Leyla Yunus demanded the removal of a judge Afgan Hajiyev, who tortures her and her husband Arif Yunus, she said Turan agency, taking advantage of her right to a phone call.
"On August 3 at the hearing Arif suffered a hypertensive crisis, the pressure jumped to 260 by 140, and he lost consciousness. Despite this, the judge did not stop the meeting, urging doctors bring Arif to consciousness. For a few hours Arif was lying on a wooden bench, and the doctor was making him injections. Arif’s head was on my knees, but the guards dragged me from the glass cage, causing me and Arif physical torture," said Leyla Yunus.
All our demands and petitions to delay the process and to allow the judge to treat Arif have been ignored. On 4 August, the situation repeated, before delivering Arif to the court, a doctor in the prison made him an injection, but it was enough for half an hour. Arif is suffering heart attacks, the pressure constantly jumps and he loses consciousness.
Today on August 5 the situation repeated, from 10:00 to 13:00 the doctor made Arif six injections, but the judge did not stop the trial, and did not postpone it for at least three days. This is a real torture, and Afgan Hajiyev is an inquisitor, he jeopardizes the life of Arif, this must stopped, and I demand to postpone the trial for a while!" said Leyla Yunus, adding that she asked her lawyers to convey to the Judicial-Legal Council her appeal on dismissal of Afghan Hajiyev.
Taking into account that the court does not allow independent journalists, and filled the hall dummies, human rights activist referred to the press, that none of the prosecution witnesses confirm allegations of fraud of Arif and Leyla Yunus. "All the witnesses, without exception, show us any claims, on the contrary, they rejected them," said Yunus.
She also reported that the court received the conclusion from international donors on the projects of the Institute of Peace and Democracy. In all conclusions donors say they are satisfied with the implementation of their projects and any violations by Leyla Yunus clearly said that they were happy with the execution of projects, and did not have any claim to them. She also noted that despite the fact that the charge of treason was removed, the court calls people who talk about it.
"Journalist Akbar Hasanov said that he was in Armenia and saw how Arif was whispering to David Shahnazaryan, and it caused his suspicious. Then I asked him: Why did you keep silence for so many years, and did not disclose this to the MNS, and speak only now?" said Yunus.
Another witness, Tahmasib Novruzov, who for unknown reasons is among the witnesses, said that he learned about the treason of Leyla Yunus from the press, "and he believes it."
"That's all the evidence of the investigation", concluded Leyla Yunus. -02В-
