Media Development Agency generously distributes government funds to pro-government media
Baku/01.07.21/Turan: The Media Development Agency has announced a list of online media to which financial assistance will be provided. It will be awarded to more than 30 sites that have been recognized as winners of the competition "held to develop and strengthen economic independence, improve the activities of online media entities (websites), as well as implement projects that are important for the state and society."
Each of the online resources will receive 3,000 manats per month for 6 months.
During this period, the minimum wage for each employee of these sites should be 600 manats, and the rest of the financial assistance should be aimed at strengthening the site's infrastructure, expanding language capabilities, and security.
Internet media must report to the Agency on a monthly basis on the use of the funds received.
Financial assistance was allocated to 18 print media. Weekly editions will receive 5 thousand manats a month, and daily ones - 15 thousand manats.
Another 3 thousand manats will be provided to finance the websites of the same newspapers.
If the editor of the newspaper asked for help on the reconstruction of the site, then in the first month he will be provided with another 5,000 manats for this purpose.
In addition, newspaper editors will receive bonuses if they ensure monthly growth of subscribers during the specified period.
It is noteworthy that the recipients of financial aid, as always, were pro-government newspapers and online resources. —06D-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.

On November 22, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed negotiations with Azerbaijan regarding a peace treaty in an interview with Public TV.
