Meeting at Residence of U.S. Ambassador
On the eve of the national holiday of the United States - Independence Day, in the residence of the U.S. Ambassador in Baku a meeting was held with the Azerbaijani participants of educational exchange programs.
The ceremony was attended by the finalists of the current program FLEX, UGRAD and Fulbright, as well as graduates of these and other educational programs.
U.S. Ambassador Richard Morningtsar called these graduates representatives of "the most brilliant and intelligent part of the Azeri society."
The young people gathered here for the country's future, the Ambassador added.
"We believe that this youth, as well as others of their peers will turn Azerbaijan into a more developed and beautiful country," continued Morningstar.
During the ceremony, the participants of the educational programs, as well as the winners of the small grants program for graduates were awarded certificates of the U.S. State Department.
The American rock band Filligar, which is visiting Azerbaijan in the framework of the "Ambassadors of Art" acting under the auspices of the Department of State, performed before the participants of the ceremony. -16C-

Adalyat Verdiyev, the head of the civil defense staff at the public legal entity Center for Public Health and Reform under the Ministry of Health, and a military expert, has been arrested. On November 22, during a media tour to the liberated territories, Verdiyev filmed and published information and images on his social media accounts revealing Azerbaijani Armed Forces' combat positions in the heights, deployment sites, coordinates, and operational conditions of the border troops. On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
