Meeting of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister with Luis Bono
Baku/03.08.23/Turan: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov received today the chief adviser of the US State Department, Luis Bono, who is on a visit to Baku. During the meeting, the current situation in the region, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the state and prospects of these negotiations were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Bayramov drew attention to the fact that Armenia, contrary to its obligations, has not yet completely withdrawn its armed forces from the territory of Azerbaijan, continues territorial claims, creates obstacles to the opening of communications and this does not contribute to achieving peace and stability in the region.
In addition, he pointed out the groundlessness of Armenia's claims about Azerbaijan's alleged "blockade" of the Armenian residents of Karabakh, the "illegitimacy" of the Lachyn border checkpoint.
Taking into account Armenia's provocations on the Lachyn road and against the Lachyn checkpoint, Azerbaijan has made a proposal to use the Aghdam-Khankendi road to assist Armenian residents, and it remains in force. Bayramov also pointed out the unacceptability of Armenia's interference in Azerbaijan's efforts to reintegrate the Armenian population. There was also an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest. ---06B---
