Mehdiyev: the West has Repeatedly Initiated Color Revolutions in Azerbaijan

The night before President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with the head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev in Tehran.

According to the official IRNA news agency, Ahmadinejad called "brotherly" the relations of Azerbaijani and Iranian peoples, as well as the relations of the two governments. However, the Zionist intelligence services, the Western countries and the U.S. are trying to weaken this relationship.

Enemies do not want to see the friendship and brotherhood of the people of Azerbaijan and Iran, but two people are on a common path of development and strengthening of these relations. History has repeatedly demonstrated that the pursuit of their own interests outside forces can not achieve their goals, said Ahmadinejad.

According to the IRNA Mehdiyev, in turn, noted that Azerbaijan is committed to expanding relations with Iran, and in this respect there is a large untapped potential.

He further noted that the West was trying to initiate in Azerbaijan several color revolutions, but they failed. "Strengthening and development of Azerbaijan in the last decade has upset the West, so they have taken certain steps to disturb the peace and stability in Azerbaijan", said Mehdiyev. As an example, he described the actions of NDI representative in Baku, who "gave one million dollars to various entities and citizens in Azerbaijan to compromise the security of the country."

Mehdiyev noted that Ilham Aliyev supports the ruling regime in Iran and President Ahmadinejad believes his friend and supporter. "The existence of a strong and stable Iran beneficial for Azerbaijan.

Referring to Ahmadinejad, Ramiz Mehdiyev said, "Your name and actions are inscribed in golden letters in the internal, regional and global policies, we can clearly see, and that's why you have so respected."

It is worth noting that during an official meeting the flag of Azerbaijan was absent in the hall, although Iran's flag was behind Ahmadinejad.-02D-
