Member of illegal armed group recruited by Iran has been extradited to Azerbaijan
Baku/26.12.22/Turan: The State Security Service of Azerbaijan announced the extradition to Azerbaijan of a member of an illegal armed group created by the special services of Iran, Taleh Yusifov, born in 1967.
Taleh Yusifov was detained and extradited to Azerbaijan as part of the mutual assistance procedure for the international search, the State Security Service said in a statement.
It is not reported from which country he was extradited. Judging by the published photo, the transfer of Yusifov to Azerbaijan took place on the Russian-Azerbaijani border (Dagestan).
Recall that the members of the group consist of Azerbaijani citizens who are trained to commit acts of terror and provocations on the territory of various states, the State Security Service said in a statement.
Taleh Yusifov is suspected of involving Azerbaijani citizens in an illegal armed group called "Huseyniyun", set up in Iran. He conducted confidential work aimed at organizing and financing this work, and acted under the pseudonym "Tagi".
In 2016, he moved to Iran and together with others participated in military exercises in Syria, planned operational activities, conducted intelligence work with the participation of foreign specialists. According to the State Security Service, among them was Yunis Safarov, convicted in the Ganja case on charges of attempted murder of the head of the executive power of Ganja in 2018.
Taleh Yusifov was brought to justice under Articles 12.1, 279.1 (creation and participation in illegal armed formations outside Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code. He was put on the international wanted list.-02D-
