Memorial ceremony for the victims of the September 11 terrorist attack at the US Embassy
Baku/11.09.23/Turan: On Monday, a ceremony to commemorate the victims of the September 11 terrorist attack was held at the US Embassy.
"Today, the embassy staff, headed by Charge d'affaires Hugo Guevara, celebrated the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks and remembered the victims. We will never forget that Azerbaijan supported the United States during this tragic period," the embassy said in a statement.
*On September 11, 2001, 19 members of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger planes. Two planes crashed into the buildings of the World Trade Center in New York. Another plane crashed into the Pentagon building in Washington. The crew of the fourth plane and its passengers resisted the terrorists and it crashed over the state of Pennsylvania. As a result of these terrorist attacks, 2,977 people were killed. ---16D---
