Mine clearance equipment of "Halo Trust" organisation was damaged intentionally
Baku/30.10.23/Turan: In the course of demining activities conducted by "ANAMA" (Azerbaijan National Mine Action Agency) in the territory of Khankendi city, a base of international non-governmental organisation "Halo Trust" was discovered.
A large amount of demining equipment and detectors that had been deliberately made unusable were found at the base, ANAMA said.
The equipment could have been used in humanitarian demining operations and served to eliminate the mine threat, however, the logistics had been deliberately destroyed, "ANAMA" said.
The "Halo Trust", a British humanitarian organisation, has been engaged in demining in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan since 2000. -06D-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
