Minister of Finance to Discuss Southern Gas Corridor in US
The Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov heads the delegation of Azerbaijan that has gone to the US for talks on financing the Southern Gas Corridor project.
According to the Finance Ministry's press service, the delegation, which includes representatives of the State Oil Fund and JSC Southern Gas Corridor held talks with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. on October 7.
According to the same source, the focus of the talks is the possible participation of these financial institutions in the second stage of the gas condensate project Shahdeniz-2.
US government support for the realization of the Southern Gas Corridor is very important and highly appreciated by the government of Azerbaijan.
Negotiations have been also carried out on other issues relating to the close cooperation with these financial institutions, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Recall that the Southern Gas Corridor project includes the delivery of gas from the Caspian fields to Europe via Azerbaijan. -05D-
