Baku / 04.05.19 / Turan: The arms race in the region should be noted that it is a consequence of the aggressive policy of the Republic of Armenia, which seized and holds 1/5 of the territories of Azerbaijan under military occupation.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Leyla Abdullayeva said this when commenting on the statements of Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in an interview with the Israeli state television channel KAN News that the sale of Israeli weapons leads to the death of Armenians and in the general arms race in the region does not contribute to building peace and security.
The situation is also aggravated by total ethnic cleansing in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. That is, here we are talking about causal relationships of events in the region.
If there were no policy of territorial claims, military aggression, occupation and ethnic cleansing, then there would be no need for an arms race that would contribute to peace and security in the region.
As for Mnatsakanyan"s assertion of Armenia"s adherence to peace and security in the region, the Armenian minister knowingly conceals the principled position of the world community on the need for the complete, immediate and unconditional release of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and the return of the forcibly expelled Azerbaijani population, including the Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. Along with the Armenian community of the region, it is one of the two stakeholders in resolving the conflict. All relevant decisions and resolutions of international organizations, including, first of all, the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, express support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan within its internationally recognized borders.
"Currently, it is still possible to achieve concrete results in advancing the negotiation process by demonstrating political will in achieving the necessary conditions for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. This is what the expectations of Azerbaijan and the entire world community from the political leadership of Armenia are. But time does not wait, and it is obvious that it is working against the aggressor-Armenia," Abdullayeva concluded. -06D -
